Pofadder businessman found dead in swimming pool

THE POLICE in Pofadder are investigating a murder and house robbery after a 40-year-old businessman was found dead in the swimming pool at his home.

The deceased is believed to be the owner of the Pofadder Hotel.

Northern Cape police spokesperson Brigadier Mohale Ramatseba said the deceased was found with several stab wounds.

“The body of the deceased was found at about 11.45am this morning. The deceased was found with several stab wounds in his chest. Although information is still sketchy at this stage, it is alleged that some valuable items were taken from the house. The police are currently following up on some leads,” said Ramatseba.

He urged anyone with information relating to the matter to contact the police.

“Anyone with information can contact Detective Lieutenant David Groenewald on 082 448 4596. No one has been arrested in connection with the incident at this stage,” Ramatseba said.
