FORMER Member of Parliament (MP) Patrick Mabilo was yesterday sworn in as a new Member of the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature (MPL).
Mabilo was nominated for the position by the ANC following the vacancy left by Alvin Botes, who resigned as a MPL and was redeployed to Parliament.
Botes was yesterday sworn in as a MP, filling the vacancy left by Mabilo, who resigned in October 2017 from the Northern Cape-to-National list.
Mabilo swore to be faithful to the Republic of South Africa and to obey, respect and uphold the constitution and all other law of the Republic and solemnly promised to perform the functions as a Member of the Northern Cape Legislature during the swearing-in ceremony, officiated by the Speaker of the Northern Cape Legislature, Kenny Mmoiemang.
