The imbizo is set to be hosted by the acting provincial commissioner of the SAPS in the Northern Cape, Major-General Luntu Ngubelanga, along with the Frances Baard district commissioner, Major-General Charlotte Makgari.
The event will also feature various external stakeholders and will take place at the Hebron Park Community Hall in Windsorton, starting at 11am.
Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said that various crime-prevention actions were carried out under Operation Basadi on Tuesday.
The operation was led by the acting district commissioner for Frances Baard, Brigadier Nicky Mtongana, with Boetsap station commander Captain Mary Modise serving as the female operational commander in honour of Women’s Month.
The operation saw collaboration between several provincial components of the SAPS, including the Frances Baard District Office and members of Windsorton, Delportshoop, Boetsap and Kimberley SAPS, as well as provincial and local Traffic departments, the departments of Labour and Home Affairs and various Sol Plaatje municipal components. Their combined efforts aimed to restrict criminal activities in Windsorton and surrounding areas.

The team also conducted compliance inspections at several tuck shops and verified the passports and documents of foreign nationals during business visits.
During the VCP, the team stopped and searched 45 vehicles and 43 individuals, and crime prevention safety flyers were distributed to motorists.
Disruptive actions also took place at several hot-spot areas, including raids at suspected drug houses.
High visibility blue light patrols were executed in Holpan, Hebron Park and Kutlwano within the Windsorton policing precinct.
Additionally, the SAPS mobile Community Service Centre was utilised to bring SAPS services closer to the community.
