THE DEPARTMENT of Social Development has pointed out that only one person has tested positive for Covid-19 at the Bright Lights Youth Care facility in Pofadder.

Spokesperson for the department, Gamiem Abrahams, said on Wednesday that the affected person is an adult and is employed as a Child and Youth Care Worker.

In an article in the DFA on Tuesday, it was incorrectly stated that a child and a care worker were affected.

“This is not a true reflection,” Abrahams said. “All the children are safe and the worker is under quarantine at home. We wish our colleague a speedy and full recovery.”
