Only 16 positive Covid-19 cases in N Cape

This follows previous reports stating that the Province had recorded two new cases, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 18.

BY WEDNESDAY afternoon the number of positive Covid-19 cases in the Northern Cape still remained at 16.

The provincial Department of Health indicated that it will issue a statement on Thursday to clarify all Covid-19 related matters.

This follows previous reports stating that the Province had recorded two new cases, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 18. However, department spokesperson Lebogang Majaha explained on Wednesday that the two additional cases were repeat tests that were conducted on known positive cases.

Majaha indicated that the department was currently busy with mass screenings across the Northern Cape.

He urged residents in the Province to continue adhering to the stipulated lockdown regulations by keeping their social distance, washing hands and by staying at home.
