Tswelopele Correctional Centre in Kimberley has been identified as an isolation site for offenders in the Province who need to be quarantined.
Department of Correctional Services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo stated that there were currently 115 confirmed cases at their facilities across the country.
“The number of Covid-19 confirmed cases in Correctional Services is to a large extent stagnating. There is only one new confirmed case in East London of an official, thus bringing the total number of cases to 115,” said Nxumalo.
He added that 58 officials had tested positive, while the number of positive inmates remained at 57.
