SOL PLAATJE Municipality has announced that nightly water shutdowns will be reinstated in Kimberley from Wednesday night, from 8pm until 4am the following morning.

Municipal spokesperson Thoko Riet said the nightly water interruptions are being implemented in order to improve the water levels at Newton Reservoir.

“We have noticed that residents who receive water supply from the Newton Reservoir either do not have water or the water pressure is low, but it improves during the day. The water interruptions are implemented to remedy the situation until we have reached full capacity at the reservoir. Further information regarding this matter will be communicated,” said Riet.
