A LOCAL NGO, TS Life Coaching Project, recently awarded all learners who participated in its Saturday classes and who obtained 75% and above in mathematics with certificates of achievement during its 2023 prize-giving ceremony.

The NGO, now in its second year, saw 25 of its learners in grades 3 to 11 complete their 2023 Master Pure Maths and Physical Science tutoring classes.

The prize-giving ceremony, which was hosted at the CRU flats in Lerato Park, saw 50 learners from various schools participating.

Learners who have been participating in the programme are from Kimberley Girls’ High School, the Lerato Place of Safety and the CRU 1 flats.

The NGO, TS Life Coaching Project was founded by Thabo Phungwayo, who is also the principal of the centre.

The NGO started its Master Pure Mathematics and Physical Science classes in July 2022 at Valentino High School, with the assistance of students from Sol Plaatje University. Classes were offered once a week, on a Saturday.

This year, certificates were awarded to learners who, with the help of the extra classes, were top achievers in different subjects at their respective schools.

Phungwayo said they are planning on expanding to online learning for the 2024 programme in order to accommodate learners from different towns and areas like Barkly West, Greenpoint, Warrenton and Ritchie.

He said the 2024 classes will commence in February and they will offer Pure Maths and Maths Literacy classes.
