THE PROVINCIAL commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lieutenant-General Koliswa Otola, along with the police management of the Province, announced the appointment of two district commissioners at the level of major-general.

The appointments on November 3 come a month after the appointment of several brigadiers and a major-general.

Major-General Nomana Adonis was appointed as the district commissioner of Pixley ka Seme, while Major-General Jonny Besnaar was appointed in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District.

The two commissioners received their new epaulettes at the ZF Mgcawu district office in Upington on November 7, which have been effective from November 1.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Thabo Litabe explained that the two senior managers were acting in their respective districts at the level of brigadier and are highly experienced in the field of policing.

“It has been the intention of Otola since assuming office in August 2022 to end the era of members acting in vacant posts,” said Litabe.

The newly-promoted members were congratulated by Otola via a virtual meeting, where she urged them to act responsibly in their new positions and to serve the community professionally and diligently.
