The Northern Cape provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant-General Koliswa Otola, has appointed seven senior managers to fill vacant positions.
THE PROVINCIAL commissioner of the South African Police Service in the Northern Cape, Lieutenant-General Koliswa Otola, has appointed seven senior managers to fill vacant positions.
Northern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Mashay Gamieldien said the vacancies had been filled by acting incumbents for a “very long period of time”.
“The newly appointed senior officers were promoted to the level of brigadier effective from October 1 in various positions and environments within the Province,” said Gamieldien.
“Presenting the new brigadiers with their ranks, Lieutenant-General Otola requested the officers to be committed to their duties and to serve the community with fairness, pride and diligence.”
The chairperson of the Northern Cape Community Policing Board, Ephraim Homan, believed that these appointments would bring stability to the Province and reinforce the fight against criminals.
