NC police launch manhunt after boy’s body found in graveyard

Motive for gruesome murder is unknown at this stage

THE BARKLY West police have launched a manhunt after the body of a 15-year-old boy was found in a graveyard in Mataleng in Barkly West.

Northern Cape police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana said the boy’s body was found on Saturday, October 17 at approximately 11.30pm

“The body was found lying in the gravesite, with severe head injuries. Our preliminary investigation suggests that the boy was hit on the head with a stone or a brick and succumbed to head injuries. The paramedics declared him dead on the scene. The motive for this gruesome murder is unknown at this stage. No one has been arrested in connection with the murder,” said Tawana.

He urged anyone with information to contact the police.
