NC police commemorate World Aids Day

SAPS members in the Northern Cape celebrated World Aids Day and International Day for Persons living with disabilities at Blinkklip High School in Postmasburg on Friday.

The event was attended by provincial SAPS representatives, provincial HIV and TB ambassadors, Tsantsabane mayor Helena English and the Love Life manager, who advised against stigmatising people living with disabilities.

Meanwhile, the 50th Celebration of Women in the Force was attended by SAPS members from Postmasburg and Danielskuil and a team of Provincial HIV ambassadors and activists on December 2 at Costa Lounge in Postmasburg.

SAPS communication officer, Warrant Officer Nomvuyo Makoloi said that Warrant Officer Meisi Mohibidu, who has 35 years service with the SAPS, was honoured at the event.

“She served the community of Postmasburg as social crime co-ordinator for the majority of her time in service. She is currently the support head at Danielskuil police station and will be retiring at the end of December 2021.”

Makoloi added that the guest speaker was Minister Ditsholofelo Barnet, who acknowledged the hard work of women in blue and their achievements and encouraged women to support each other.
