FOUR suspects are due to appear in the Mothibistad Magistrate’s Court soon following an incident where a man was allegedly hijacked, assaulted and kidnapped in the Kuruman CBD on Youth Day.

According to the spokesperson for the police in the Northern Cape, Captain Sergio Kock, the incident occurred at about 7pm on Saturday evening after the victim went into town to buy groceries before stopping at a local tavern.

“When he stopped at the tavern, he was accosted by four men who hijacked, assaulted and left him in a nearby veld,” Kock said yesterday.

“The John Taolo Gaetsewe (JTG) Trio Task team, along with the Kuruman Crime Prevention unit and members from Wrenchville SAPS, received information and acted upon it in a flash.

“This resulted in the arrests of four male suspects along withthe retrieval of a Ford Ikon in Seoding Village, as well as groceries and the car radio.

“The suspects should appear in the Mothibistad Magistrate’s Court soon.

The investigation continues.”
