A 29-year-old Douglas man was arrested after he allegedly raped an eight-year-old girl in Breipal on Tuesday, September 21.
A 29-YEAR-old Northern Cape man is expected to appear in the Douglas Magistrate’s Court soon after he allegedly raped an eight-year-old girl in Breipal on September 21.
Northern Cape police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana said the girl was playing with her friends when they were allegedly accosted by the suspect.
“It is alleged that the victim, together with her friends, were playing near a dumping site in Breipal when the suspect chased them, grabbed the victim and raped her,” said Tawana.
“The friends managed to get away and reported the incident to the parents. The suspect was subsequently traced and apprehended. He is expected to appear in the Douglas Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of rape.
“The investigation continues.”
