A 41-year-old Northern Cape man has been charged with raping and sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy and his nine-year-old brother.
A 41-YEAR-old Northern Cape man has been charged with raping and sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy and his nine-year-old brother.
National Prosecuting Authority regional spokesperson Mojalefa Senokoatsane said on Tuesday that the accused appeared in the Kakamas Magistrate’s Court where he is facing one count of rape and two counts of sexual assault.
“The relationship between the accused and the boys is not yet known at this stage. The incidents, which allegedly occurred between March 14 and March 28, 2023, were reported to the police on August 15,” said Senokoatsane.
He added that the accused chose to abandon his bail application.
“The matter has been postponed to September 22 for further investigation. The accused will remain in custody until his next court appearance in the Kakamas District Court.”
