IN AN EFFORT of modernising and improving the health services, the Northern Cape Department of Health is proud to announce a move from the old analogue to digital system, of which the emergency numbers changed from 112 and 10177.

The departmental spokesperson Lulu Mxekezo said they have realised that some of the calls do not go through to the new call centres due to the transition to the digital system.

“We encourage the public to use the provided alternative numbers in all the different districts.

“In the Frances Baard, John Taolo Gaetsewe and Pixley Ka Seme districts the public can call 087 759 2154.

“In the Namakwa and ZFM districts, the public can call 087 759 2153.

“We are currently in the implementation phase of the system; a formal launch will be in June and a date will be announced soon,” said Mxekezo.
