NC Health dept seeks assistance in locating missing patient

The Northern Cape Department of Health has requested the public’s assistance in locating a patient who went missing from Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital in Kimberley.

THE NORTHERN Cape Department of Health has requested the public’s assistance in locating a missing patient, Motseki Daniel Shashapa, 31.

Shashapa was transferred to Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital in Kimberley from Hopetown Clinic on November 18 after not feeling well.

Department spokesperson Lulu Mxekezo said Shashapa was admitted to medical recovery and went missing on the same day.

“The security personnel were alerted and they searched for him in and around the institution but he could not be found,” said Mxelezo.

“According to his employer, the patient is from Sharpeville in Vereeniging and he came with him through the employment company. He does not know Kimberley or the Northern Cape and has no relatives around the Province,” added Mxelezo.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts Shashapa is urged to contact Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital on 053 802 9111.
