NC dept seeks assistance in locating hospital patient’s family

THE NORTHERN Cape Department of Health has requested the assistance of the community in locating the family of a patient, Tebogo Motsiu, at Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital in Kimberley.

Department spokesperson, Lulu Mxekezo said the patient was admitted to Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital (RMSH) on February 21, 2021.

“The patient was brought to the facility by the police after they found him in the veld. He was referred to the Social Work Unit on February 22, 2021 for family tracing by the doctor treating him,” said Mxekezo .

“Upon interviewing the patient, the doctor established that the patient cannot remember many details about his life, but he mentioned that he is from Mahikeng in the North West Province.”

Mxekezo added that the patient mentioned some family members that he lived with in the North West.

“The patient mentioned that he stays with his maternal grandfather, Johannes Moeti, his mother, Tshidi Mocumi, and his sister, Amathabiseng Moeti.”

Mxekezo urged anyone with information regarding the patient or the whereabouts of his family to contact the department.

“Assistance will be highly appreciated in identifying the family of this patient. Anyone who can identify the patient can contact the Social Work Unit at the hospital on 053 802 2203 or visit the Social Work Unit at RMSH,” she said.
