NC cops arrest wanted suspect

A SUSPECT wanted in a murder, kidnapping and aggravated robbery incident that took place in Danielskuil, was arrested by Crime Intelligence and the Kuruman High Way Patrol members on Tuesday December 15.

Captain Olebogeng Tawana said the suspect Nicholas Manci, was listed on the national wanted list and had absconded court proceedings.

“The police were on his trail after a warrant of his arrest was issued after he failed to attend a criminal trial case in the Northern Cape High Court.

“He is also wanted in Middelburg for a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.”

Tawana added that during his arrest he was found in possession of a firearm.

“It was later established that it was a BB gun. The suspect is expected to appear in the Northern Cape High Court soon.”

Tawana stated that in an unrelated incident, a trailer fully loaded with livestock was impounded.

“The owner of the trailer could not account for the sheep and goats. The owner of the trailer could only account for 11 goats where he produced a document to transport them from the Northern Cape to KwaZulu Natal.”

He indicated that further investigation revealed that the trailer’s identification mark was tempered with.

“The investigation continues.”
