Kimberley SAPS communication officer Captain Tessa Jansen said members of Galeshewe, Kagisho and Modderrivier conducted door-to-door visits to create awareness about gender-based violence and human trafficking.

Community members were also provided with safety tips for a safer festive season, including on the prevention of theft out of motor vehicles and carrying cash safely, and advised to reject and report stolen goods.

Jansen added that 212 motor vehicles were stopped and searched, while 401 persons were searched during the roadblock.

“The traffic officers issued traffic fines amounting to R12,900 for various traffic-related violations,” said Jansen.
