Minister and premier conduct roadblock in Kimberley

THE MINISTER of Public Service and Administration, Inkosi Mzamo Buthelezi, alongside Northern Cape Premier Dr Zamani Saul, led a roadblock in Memorial Road, Kimberley, on Friday.

The operation, conducted in collaboration with the police, traffic officials and Correctional Services, marked the official launch of the annual Integrated Public Service Month in the Province.

This initiative aims to encourage public servants to engage with communities and evaluate the effectiveness of government services. Premier Saul urged public servants to remain agile, innovative and forward-thinking in their roles, highlighting the need for adaptability in serving the public.

Minister Buthelezi emphasised the significant role public servants play in improving the lives of communities and the importance of their work in bringing about positive change.

Following the roadblock, the delegation visited the Resthaven Welfare Society in Kimberley, which provides care to 47 elderly and frail residents, underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society.

The launch set the tone for a month-long focus on enhancing the delivery of public services across the Province.
