More than 100 elderly people were screened and tested during the campaign
MEDICAL conditions in elderly people can be detected early through regular health screenings and check-ups.
This was the advice from Northern Cape MEC for Health, Fufe Makatong, during a screening campaign held at Seochoareng Old Age Home in Galeshewe on Friday.
More than 100 elderly people were screened and tested during the campaign.
Department of Health spokesperson, Lebogang Mahaja, said the event formed part of the Thuma Mina campaign.
“The campaign reinforces government’s commitment to ensure an efficient and effective public service. The MEC also took part in the painting and cleaning of the sick bay for the elderly at the centre as well as providing food and gifts to them,” said Mahaja.
