“A stern directive during my visit to Riverton to ensure water is restored to its original normal flow”
WITH the water in Kimberley having been restored to its previous flow, providing relief for residents who have lived with shutdowns for more than two months, the Executive Mayor, Patrick Mabilo, has urged locals to continue to use water sparingly.
“We must work together to save water,” Mabilo said yesterday, added that he was pleased that the water situation in the city had been restored to its previous flow.
“The Sol Plaatje Municipality infrastructure directorate worked around the clock to turn the situation around and ensure that residents received water supply without any interruption.
“As the municipality we are deeply encouraged by this positive development. This is a huge relief for all of us, especially the infrastructure team and the water division.”
Mabilo added that he had issued “a stern directive during my visit to Riverton to ensure water is restored to its original normal flow”.
“We wish to extend a special thanks to the Sol Plaatje team that spent sleepless nights to ensure the return of a normal water flow to all our communities. Let’s continue to take hands for service delivery. We also like to thank all stakeholders for their support during this time.”
He also expressed his appreciation to residents for their patience during this period.
