The Northern Cape police have requested the public’s assistance in identifying the body of a man that was found floating in a canal near Raaswater in Upington.
THE POLICE have requested the public’s assistance in identifying the body of a man that was found in a canal near Raaswater in Upington.
Northern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Omphile Masegela said the man’s body was discovered floating in the canal on Thursday.
“The deceased is a coloured male estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old. He was wearing black trackpants, a grey adidas hoodie and black All Star sneakers at the time of his drowning,” said Masegela.

In a similar incident, the body of an unknown man was discovered near a dam in Ga-Ramphenyana in Bolobedu, Limpopo.
The man’s body was found by a community member on Monday.
The man was found with blood stains on his face and his shirt had been taken off.
Its still unclear how the man died.
The police said an enquiry docket has been opened and an investigation is currently under way.
