Man stabbed stabbed to death during tavern fight

THE BARKLY West SAPS are investigating a murder after the body of a 27-year-old man was found near a tavern in Barkly West during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Community members indicated that a fight was believed to have broken out at the tavern in Makweteng, Rooirand before Thato Gaosekwe was stabbed to death.

Lieutenant Sergio Kock said the deceased was stabbed several times and died on the scene.

“The incident happened on June 5 at about 2am.”

He added that no suspects had been arrested as yet.

“Anyone with information regarding the incident is requested to call Detective warrant officer John Molele on 0734003019. The investigation continues,” Kock stated.
