A 45-year-old man was sentenced to six years imprisonment after he was convicted for shoplifting a radio and cheese.
SAPS Upington spokesperson Sergeant Omphile Masegela on Friday said the accused Patrick Kordom, was found guilty on two counts of shoplifting that occurred in June this year.
“The offences were committed at two different stores where the accused stole a radio and cheese to the total value of R790.”
She said the accused was sentenced in the Upington regional court on August 25.
The acting station commander of Upington, Colonel Gert Jobs commended the investigating officers Constables Shane Dibakwane and Yolandi Charlie for their role that led to the conviction.
