THE HANOVER SAPS Detective unit secured a 25-year prison sentence for 35-year-old Tracy “Pes” Wilson, who was convicted of murdering his 34-year-old girlfriend.

Northern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Cherelle Ehlers said the incident occurred in Hanover on January 7, 2024.

She said the court heard that the victim had planned to go out with her sister and friends that afternoon, but her boyfriend (Wilson) objected, leading her to stay home. Later, the couple had an argument and Wilson took out a knife and stabbed her to death.

The court found Wilson guilty and sentenced him to 25 years in prison for murder, also declaring him unfit to possess a firearm.

Ehlers said the investigation was led by Detective Sergeant Luvuyo Kampi from the Hanover SAPS Detective unit. “His thorough efforts secured the hefty sentence and justice for the victim of GBVF violence.”
