A MURDER accused, Aldean Wilkinson, is expected to indicate whether he wishes to apply for bail at his next court hearing on May 25.

Wilkinson made a first appearance in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for the murder of his pregnant girlfriend, Danelle van der Linde, 28.

She was stabbed in the neck and back, apparently in the presence of their nine-year-old son, in Floors on Sunday, May 15.

Van der Linde died on the scene while paramedics were trying to save her life.

Wilkinson handed himself over to the police on Monday after fleeing the murder scene.

National Prosecuting Authority regional spokesperson Mojalefa Senokoatsane said the case was postponed for bail information to be made available.

“The SABC has also made an application to broadcast the appearance of the accused. The accused is expected to make his intentions known regarding his bail application at his next appearance,” said Senokoatsane.
