One person died and four others were injured in the accident near Phatsimang College on Thursday night.
ONE PERSON was killed and four others were transported to hospital following a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of John Daka and Nobengula streets near Phatsimang College on Thursday night.
According to by-standers at the scene, two of the vehicles, a VW Polo and a Kia Picano, were standing stationary at the intersection, waiting for the robot, when a Colt bakkie, coming from Nobengula Street and turning into John Daka Street, crashed into them.
The bakkie landed on its side, facing the opposite direction.
A passenger in the Polo was declared dead at the scene by emergency personnel, while four other people were injured and taken to the Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital by Emerg-E-Med and ER24.
A large crowd of people gathered at the accident scene, while the police, emergency services and fire department were also in attendance.
