PROVISION Ministries will host a religious crusade at its church grounds in Longlands from February 6 to 9.
Organiser Pastor Esau Montzinger said various preachers from across the Northern Cape would share the Word and give testimonies.
“We invited churches from Postmasburg, Delportshoop, Kimberley, Ritchie and Jacobsdal to join in the event,” he said.
“This will also be the first time that gospel artists will be performing in Longlands, including Heinrich Bartlett, Rowayne Riedt, Shaltin Smeer, Pravin Speelman, Cathleen Raas, Desmonia Laven, Tobi-Ann Landman and Ursulla Bott.”
Montzinger noted that a Pentecostal ceremony would be held on Saturday, featuring Henoline Goeieman as the main artist.
“Local artists will also be given exposure,” he added.
He further stated that the mayor of Dikgatlong Municipality and representatives from the Premier’s Office, the Patriotic Alliance and the Department of Social Development were expected to attend the closing service on Sunday.
He highlighted that the event aims to encourage young people and foster a sense of belonging within the church.
“It is important to give forgotten small and rural communities the attention they deserve. My grandparents were the head pastors at Longlands, which is also my birthplace. My ordination on February 9 will commemorate my birth, four hours after my grandfather passed away on December 12, 1990. I decided to host this crusade in order to plough back into my community, ” Montzinger said.
