THE NORTHERN Cape Liquor Board issued four liquor outlets with non-compliance notices for operating over the Easter weekend.

The acting chief executive officer of the Northern Cape Liquor Board, Thandi Modibela, said that off-consumption liquor trading was not allowed on Christmas and Good Friday.

“Consumption is only allowed at restaurants and clubs, while taverns are allowed to trade,” said Modibela.

She said fines to the value of R7,500 were issued over the Easter weekend during operations that were conducted in Kimberley, Hartswater and Pampierstad.

“The owners will appear before the Northern Cape Liquor Board,” Modibela added.
