LENMED Royal Hospital and Heart Centre in Kimberley has opened its fifth theatre, which will be dedicated to performing maternity and gynaecological-related procedures.

The theatre is positioned next to the hospital’s delivery rooms, neonatal intensive care and maternity units.

Lenmed spokesperson Michelle Naidoo said that the new theatre will create an all-in-one distinct maternity space within the hospital.

“The hospital prides itself with having welcomed 376 news lives into the world in this department between January and April 2021.”

Naidoo added that all Covid-19 safety procedures remain in place at the hospital and that visiting continues to be restricted.

She urged communities to continue to adhere to all safety precautions, including correctly wearing a mask and practising social distancing and consistent hand hygiene.
