Northern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Molefi Shemane reported that on January 15, 2022, 33-year-old Lebogang Setlhabetsi was found dead after being stabbed at a shebeen in Promiseland, Kuruman.

The suspect, 23-year-old Keabaka Shadrack Moloko, was quickly identified and arrested.

The Kuruman Regional Court recently sentenced Moloko to 12 years in prison for Setlhabetsi’s murder and declared him unfit to possess a firearm.

Shemane said that the John Taolo Gaetsewe District police management praised Detective Sergeant Modiaokgotla Lawrence Chabalala from the Kuruman Detectives for his dedicated and thorough investigation that led to the successful conviction.
