Kuruman cops arrest two suspected drug dealers

The police raided two houses in Bankhara location after following up on information regarding alleged drug dealing.

TWO SUSPECTS were arrested in Bankhara location after they were found in possession of drugs during a SAPS joint intelligence operation that was conducted in the Kuruman area.

Northern Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Dimakatso Sello said the team, which included the Kuruman Highway Patrol, K9 and Crime Intelligence units, searched two houses in Bankhara after following up on information regarding the alleged dealing in drugs.

“At the first house,117 mandrax tablets and cash to the value of R920 were confiscated. A 32-year-old male was arrested for possession and dealing in drugs,” said Sello.

She added that 16 quarters of mandrax, which was sealed in foil, and dagga weighing 1.2 kilograms were discovered at the second house.

“A 35-year-old woman was arrested and is expected to appear before the Kuruman Magistrates’ Court soon on a charge of dealing in drugs.

“Police investigations continue.”
