Kimberley police investigating after man’s body found along N12

The Kimberley SAPS Serious and Violent Crimes Unit has opened an inquest docket following the discovery of an unidentified man’s body along the N12 national road.

THE KIMBERLEY SAPS Serious and Violent Crimes Unit has opened an inquest docket after the body of an unknown man was found along the N12 national road on November 24.

Northern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Molefi Shemane stated that the deceased, believed to be between 48 and 55 years old, was found along the N12 near Ritchie on Sunday at approximately 7.55pm.

“The deceased was dressed in black tracksuit pants with a green T-shirt and had grey hair and beard,” said Shemane.

He added that a post-mortem would be conducted to determine the cause of death.

“Police investigations are continuing. Anyone with information that could assist the police with the investigation of the case and tracing of the relatives of the deceased is requested to contact Sergeant Moagi Mokatsane on 082 302 0407 or call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or make use of the MySAPS app.

“All information received will be treated confidentially,” Shemane assured.
