EIGHT-year-old Nthabeleng Nonkasa from Kimberley was crowned Miss Mini Model World South Africa 2024.

Nthabeleng represented the Northern Cape against finalists from other provinces at the prestigious event in Durban on the weekend.

She will now represent her country at the upcoming Mini Model World in the Dominican Republic from April 9-15.

Nthabeleng’s journey into the world of fashion and beauty pageants began at the tender age of five, when she took her first steps on the runway with Vogue Kimberley.

Since then, she has been unstoppable, with modelling proving to be both a source of confidence and joy in her life.

She is also more than just a pretty face, but a multi-talented individual who excels in various activities like playing pool, shooting hoops on the netball court, or dazzling everyone with her dance moves.

Nthabeleng says that her journey to Miss Mini Teen Universe SA has not just been about personal achievement, but also about making a difference.

She was recently crowned the winner in the 7-8-year-old category in the Miss Goddess pageant that was hosted by the Unamandla Isagoentle Foundation in Kimberley in December.

The impactful initiative is a socially responsible approach to philanthropy, recognising the significance of addressing foundational requirements for children to pursue their education with dignity and comfort.

The event not only celebrated achievements in various categories but also symbolised a collective effort to empower and uplift the lives of those in need.

Following her crowning this past weekend, Nthabeleng’s proud parents – Ben Mabizela and Sisanda Nonkasa, expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the incredible honour bestowed upon their child.

They said that winning the Miss Mini Teen Universe SA pageant is a testament to Nthabeleng’s hard work, dedication and natural talent.

“From the moment the models stepped onto the runway, they exuded confidence and grace, captivating the audience and judges alike. As parents, we have always believed in nurturing our child’s passions and talents, and seeing her shine in this competition filled our hearts with immense pride and joy,” her parents said.

“We are grateful for the support and encouragement from family, friends and mentors who have played a pivotal role in her journey.

“This victory is not just a triumph for our child, but a celebration of the love, guidance and unwavering support that surrounds us. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for recognising and honouring this talent.”
