A TOTAL of 6 621 people in the Northern Cape have tested positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday night.

This is according to the Minister of Heath, Dr Zweli Mkhize, who made the announcement on August 9.

Mkhize said that the total number of Covid-19-related deaths in the Province has remained at 66, while recoveries stand at 3 306.

He said that Frances Baard District has the highest number of Covid-19 cases.

“The Frances Baard District has reported a total of 2 578 positive cases thus far, while Pixley ka Seme District has 1 894 positive cases, John Taolo Gatesewe District recorded a total 1 398 positive cases, ZF Mgcawu District has 591 cases and Namakwa District recorded 156 positive cases thus far,” he said.
