A GALESHEWE family is elated after their 15-year-old daughter, Bianca Lindiwe Mpata, was found unharmed near the Galeshewe Stadium on Tuesday, January 27, 2021.

Mpata went missing on January 23, 2021 after she apparently went for a walk with her seven-year-old brother in Phillip Mphiwa Street

The seven-year-old returned home without his sister and told his father that Mpata said she was going to see a friend in Bloemanda.

Mpata’s father, Silogele Kwes said they found his daughter near the stadium after 2pm.

“Bianca sent a WhatsApp message to her cousin saying that she was in the street at the stadium. The cousin informed us and we drove to the street. We found her in the and she came running to the car. She was crying but was unharmed,” said Kwes.

Kwes said they informed the police and took the teenager for counselling.

“Bianca has not told us much about what happened. She was traumatised and crying. We took her to be examined by a doctor and they found that she was not assaulted in any way. We also did not see any physical injuries on her. Police took her to the Thuthuzela Centre for counselling,” he said.

Kwes said they are relived that his daughter was eventually found alive.

“We are so happy that she was found. We are waiting on her to give us further details on what happened. For now we just want to keep her safe,” Kwes said.
