IN A JOINT effort to enhance safety and security, the Witdraai South African Police Service (SAPS) partnered with the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and the Border Management Authority (BMA) Port Enforcement to conduct a comprehensive roadblock operation. The operation took place on Tuesday along the R360 road in the Kgalagadi area of the ZF Mgcawu District.
Northern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Omphile Masegela said the primary objectives of this operation were to address non-compliant motorists, identify undocumented individuals and combat transactional crimes. A total of 17 vehicles underwent thorough inspections, while 30 persons were subjected to searches. The collaborative effort aimed to create a safer environment for all citizens.
Masegela emphasised the importance of partnerships with relevant stakeholders. He said that by working closely with other agencies, the SAPS aims to ensure that all citizens feel secure and protected.
