Jubilation filled the air as Bothetheletsa village hosted Joe Morolong Municipality’s Heritage Day celebrations for the first time this week.

JUBILATION and an ecstatic mood pumped up Bothetheletsa village as it hosted Joe Morolong Municipality’s Heritage Day celebrations for the first time on September 25.

The celebration, under the theme ‘Celebrating our cultural diversity in a democratic South Africa’, was graced by the presence of John Taolo Gaetsewe Developmental Trust CEO Tumelo Mpolokeng.

The event was also attended by the mayor of Joe Morolong Municipality, Dineo Leutlwetse-Tshabalala, the Speaker, Violet Jordan, exco members, councillors, pastors and municipal and government officials.

The Chieftaincy present were Kgosi Toto in her capacity as chairperson of the Provincial House of Traditional Leaders, Kgosi Jantjie, Kgosi Molema and the Tribal Council Jantjie family including Botheletheletsa.

Sector departments, the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, Sassa, the IEC, the JTG Development Trust and the SAPS also formed part of the celebrations by rendering services to the community.
