Hawks hunt for duo after Hartswater pharmacy hacked, R6 million stolen

THE HAWKS’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation unit in Kimberley has requested the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects wanted on fraud charges.

Hawks provincial spokesperson Captain Tebogo Thebe said it was alleged that a Hartswater pharmacy’s bank account was hacked and R6 million was transferred into a Luno account which is registered to the names of the accused in November 19.

Thebe said that Lindelani Mbatha, 38, from Kwa-Madondo in KwaZulu-Natal, and Ellen Baloyi, 31, from Meadowlands in Soweto, are considered persons of interest in the matter, who could assist with the ongoing investigation.

“Members of the public are urged to assist in locating the pair’s whereabouts. Hawks investigator Captain Luthoyi can be contacted on 071 481 3387. All information provided will be kept strictly confidential,” Thebe added.
