IRISANG Ulwami Domingo, 10, from Phutanang will be competing in the Tiny Miss Teen World 2021 beauty pageant to be held in Turkey early next year.

This comes after she qualified at the Tiny Miss Teen National beauty pageant in October.

The Grade 4 pupil from Tshiamo Primary School in Galeshewe was crowned the first princess during the SA leg of the pageant that was held in Pretoria on October 10.

Irisang is ecstatic about the chance to represent the Northern Cape and the country at such a tender age and hopes to fly the flag high.

According to her mother, Kathy Domingo, 49, her daughter started modelling when she was six years old.

She already has almost 40 sashes and crowns from different pageants.

Her mother said that her decision to enrol Irisang at a modelling agency was driven by her evident talent as a toddler already.

“She started showing her love for the stage and the camera. She was always prepared to pose in different postures whenever someone took pictures of her. She was never shy and always maintained her confidence. That is why I was always giving my all, including my salary as a domestic worker to support her dreams,” said Kathy.

She added that her daughter continues to show her that “winning is in her blood”.

She said her daughter’s modelling coach at the academy has become a role model due to the continued support that he gives to his students and their parents.
