THE GALESHEWE police have appealed to the public to assist them with any information that can lead to the arrest of any suspect/s linked to an incident last year where an unidentified burnt body was found near the Barkly West road.

The male deceased has never been identified.

The body was discovered by a community member in the veld close to the Barkly West road near Galeshewe on October 28, 2019, at about 12.50pm.

Police spokesperson Captain Bashoabile Kale said that the body was badly burnt and that the man’s hands and feet had been bound with wire.

“A car tyre was used to burn the body. It is also suspected that the deceased’s body was covered with a pink and white duvet with red stripes before it was burned,” said Kale.

He added that the deceased was believed to have been between the ages of 27 and 35 years old.

Anyone with information that can lead to the indentification of the deceased and the arrest of the murder suspect/s is requested to contact Sergeant Steven Wax of Galeshewe Detectives on 082 4691 728 or 053 807 6000.
