The Galeshewe police are investigating the rape of a 19-year-old woman near Nobengula Road earlier this month.
THE GALESHEWE SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit is investigating the rape of a 19-year-old woman near Nobengula Road, Club 2000, Galeshewe on March 14.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Timothy Sam said that, according to preliminary investigations, the woman was at a local drinking establishment with friends when she was offered a lift home by an unknown man.
“She accepted the offer and left with the unknown male person to the main road where the cab was supposed to pick them up. As they walked past a bridge, the suspect dragged her into a bushy area, threatened her with a knife and allegedly raped her,” said Sam.
He added that the suspect was described as per the identikit above.
“The police are requesting the public to assist with information that may lead to the apprehension and arrest of the suspect and the investigation of the case.
