Another woman was injured following the accident approximately 10 km outside of Ficksburg.
One woman was killed and another injured this morning following a light motor vehicle rollover on the R26, approximately 10km outside of Ficksburg in the Free State.
ER 24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 7.30 am to find a light motor vehicle on its roof on the side of the road. “One woman was found lying outside the vehicle while a second woman was found lying inside the vehicle,” he said.
Meiring added that medics assessed the patients and found that one woman had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. “Nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead.”
Assessments of the second woman showed that she had sustained moderate injuries, Meiring said.
The woman was treated for her injuries and was thereafter transported to Ficksburg Provincial Hospital for further care.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
