THE FRANCES Baard District Municipality (FBDM) has received a clean audit opinion for the financial year ended June 30 from the auditor-general.

FBDM communications manager Gerline Roman stated on Monday that this marks the fourth consecutive year that the municipality has earned an unqualified audit opinion.

“This is a significant achievement that demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to financial transparency and accountability,” said Roman.

“A clean audit opinion, also known as an unqualified opinion, means that the municipality’s financial statements are free from material misstatements and are in full compliance with applicable financial reporting standards. This independent verification reinforces public confidence, assuring all stakeholders that FBDM’s financial reports are accurate, reliable, and transparent.”

Roman commended the administrative team for their dedication and hard work in achieving this milestone.

“FBDM remains focused on enhancing service delivery while ensuring that public funds are managed efficiently and effectively. This lays the foundation upon which we can now continue to build and strengthen our commitment to improve on service delivery and sound financial management.

“The municipality is committed to maintaining high standards of financial management and will continue to prioritise transparency and accountability in all its operations,” she said.
