The police in Galeshewe are investigating the death of a four-year-old girl who died in a shack blaze on Friday night in Chris Hani Park.

THE POLICE in Galeshewe are investigating the death of a four-year-old girl who died in a shack blaze on Friday night in Chris Hani Park.

SAPS spokesperson Colonel Cherelle Ehlers said the incident took place at around 10.40pm on June 7.

“It is alleged that two children, aged four and eight years old, were in the shack when the fire occurred.

“Community members allegedly noticed the fire and responded. An eight-year-old girl managed to escape, however, she sustained burn wounds. The four-year-old girl died in the blaze.”

Ehlers added that the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
