Three people declared dead on the scene, fourth person dies in hospital
THE POLICE in Kimberley are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a horrific accident that claimed the lives of four people.
A vehicle was travelling towards the Douglas crossing on Saturday night when it apparently collided with the island and then hit a street light and a fence before coming to a standstill.
Debris was scattered all over the road.
Three people were declared dead on the scene while a fourth patient was transported for medical treatment by Med24/7 but later died in hospital.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Dimakatso Mooi said the accident happened on Saturday night at about 11.45pm.
“It is alleged that the Range Rover that the deceased were driving in rolled. Three males were certified dead on the scene while another male died later in hospital,” said Mooi.
She added that details of the deceased could not be revealed at this stage.
“Police investigations continue,” said Mooi.
