THE UPINGTON SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit has requested the public’s assistance in tracing five-year-old Le-Virno van Wyk, from Louisvaleweg, who went missing on May 31.

Upington police spokesperson Sergeant Omphile Masegela said Le-Virno was last seen when he went to play after school. He never returned home.

“He was wearing a yellow T-shirt, mustard pants and black boots at the time of his disappearance,” said Masegela.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is requested to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Lebogang Mokwene, on 082 330 4478 or 082 302 0442.

Masegela reminded the public that there is no waiting period required before a person is reported as missing.

“Let us keep our children safe and protected at all times and ensure that they are escorted to school and back home,” added Masegela.
