Five new Covid-19 positive cases in the Northern Cape

The new cases come from various districts in the Province.

ZWELI Mkhize, the Minister of Health, has confirmed five new people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Northern Cape.

The five new confirmed cases of Covid-19 are as follows: 

One person from Umsobomvu local municipality in Pixley Ka Seme, with a travel history outside the Province; 

Two people residing in the Sol Plaatje local municipality in the Frances Baard District; 

One person from Kgatelopele local municipality in the ZF Mgcawu District; and one person from Renosterberg local municipality in the Pixley Ka Seme District, with a travel history outside the Province.

According to the department, the tracing teams are actively involved in identifying all contacts and testing is underway.

“We can also report that 29 people from the 45 confirmed cases have since recovered from the virus and one has passed away, leaving us with 16 active cases.”
